German Military Style Eyeglass Frames

Choose the war period glasses. Check below to see if you are right.
A major drawback for any reenactor who wears prescription lenses is finding a period eyewear to fit the World War II German impression. Some have been fortunate to find original frames via a friend in Europe or through dealers. As someone who wears glasses every waking moment and has never used contacts I understand the reluctance to go without for even a short time.
These European frames are virtually identical in style and weight to the original German military "saddle bridge" eyeglasses. The only difference is flexible section of the temple (part that goes behind your ear) and that they have a silver finish as opposed to the bare metal of the original. On these small frames this is not really a visible detriment. Additionally, the original metal can react with the skin to producing a form of oxidation. While in Germany I discovered that health restrictions prohibit the production of frames in this base metal, as some people have allergic reactions. These frames, being new are stronger and will put up with field use along with everyday wear.
